Ralf Trommler is a project manager with a wealth of almost 20 years experience spanning the commercial, marine and offshore sectors of the maritime industry, with particular expertise in the megayacht niche. He has a solid background in ship design, construction and project management, underpinned by many years of managing major projects at Nobiskrug GmbH.

Beginning as an enthusiastic sailor in his youth, Ralf’s journey into the maritime industry was ignited by a passion for the sea. This fervor led him through a comprehensive apprenticeship in boatbuilding, where he honed his skills in traditional craftsmanship and modern construction techniques. Eager to deepen his understanding, he pursued a degree in Naval Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Kiel, specializing in advanced materials and hydrodynamics, laying the foundation for his professional ascent.

Having risen through the ranks from a technical project manager to an overall project manager of complex and challenging projects, Ralf’s professional career has reflected his commitment and expertise. Today, as an experienced consultant, he draws on his wealth of experience to manage and advise on complex maritime projects, navigating the waters of innovation and efficiency with precision and foresight.

As a long-time construction project manager and later project manager for megayacht projects, Ralf was instrumental in driving projects from conception to realisation and ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets and strict quality standards.
During his tenure, he has orchestrated the complexity of new build projects, also managing a megayacht refit project, skilfully handling the intricacies of the refit and warranty phases.

Ralf’s broad overview also extends to contract negotiation and conflict resolution, demonstrating his ability to lead with both technical and strategic acumen.

His previous roles outside the yachting industry highlight his diverse expertise both as a construction project manager for an offshore platform project and for a naval project as part of a joint venture with tkMS, demonstrating his skills in dealing with subcontractors, client representatives and authorities as well as classification societies.

Holds a degree as Dipl. Engineer in Naval Architecture (UAS) and a Certificate of Apprenticeship in Boatbuilding.
